About Stevens Arms
Stevens Arms was founded in 1864 by Joshua Stevens in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts, establishing a legacy that spans over 160 years of American firearms manufacturing.
Before starting his own company at age 50, Joshua Stevens worked for 26 years with renowned New England gun makers including Samuel Colt, Eli Whitney, and the Massachusetts Arms Company.
The company grew rapidly and by 1902 was advertising itself as "the largest producers of sporting arms in the world," producing not only firearms but also machine tools, scopes, and even automobiles.
In 1920, Savage Arms acquired Stevens, making Savage the largest producer of arms in the United States at the time and establishing a partnership that continues today.
Stevens operates as a subsidiary of Savage Arms, maintaining its commitment to producing affordable, reliable firearms that offer excellent value for hunters and target shooters.
