I have had great luck using this bullet both in the Mini Mag load and the 45 gr Quiet 22 version on varmints. Accurate for minute of squirrel and it hits them hard. The segmented HP are the best varmint load I’ve found. I live in a forest and we have critters that like to chew on everything.

Advantages
If you own a semi-automatic .22 LR rifle or pistol that is picky with ammo, just buy the Mini-Mags and save yourself the headache. I’ve run thousands of the 40-grain copper-plated round noses & hollow points through multiple platforms—including finicky semi-autos—and they cycle flawlessly every single time. Unlike bulk box ammo that’s plagued with failures to feed or click-no-bang duds, CCI’s quality control is top-tier. They shoot clean, ignite consistently, and hold tight groups at the range. They cost a little more than loose bulk packs, but the zero-malfunction performance makes it worth every penny. It’s the only rimfire ammo I completely trust right out of the box.
Disadvantages
Slightly more expensive than loose bulk ammo, and because it's high-velocity, it isn't the best choice if you are trying to shoot quietly with a suppressor. Otherwise, the performance easily justifies the price.

If you just bought a new semi-auto rimfire pistol or rifle, don't even bother with cheap bulk ammo for the first few hundred rounds. Use Mini-Mags to break it in. The extra high-velocity punch helps cycle the stiff new springs properly, and it will save you a ton of initial frustration.
