Boyt Harness Company has been crafting quality products for over 120 years, beginning as Walter Boyt Saddlery in 1901.

Brothers Walter and John Boyt immigrated from England to America in 1885 and founded their company after learning saddle making and leather work at Des Moines Saddlery Company.

During World War I, the company shifted to manufacturing military firearm accessories including pistol holsters for the new Colt 1911 .45 pistol, cavalry saddle bags, and harness for artillery horses.
