Soft Point bullets are intended to function similarly to hollow points, by expanding after impact and creating a larger wound channel. Soft point projectiles use a copper jacket like most FMJ rounds, with an exposed lead tip. The lead tip will expand into a much larger diameter projectile, helping to create a more lethal impact.
