Outdoor Edge Cutlery Corporation was founded in 1988 by David Bloch, a mechanical engineering graduate from Colorado School of Mines.
Bloch created his first knife design, the Game Skinner based on the Alaskan "Ulu" knife, as his senior design project and launched the company from his garage.
