On Target 308/7.62 NATO M62 142 Gr Red Tracer

On Target .308/7.62 NATO 142 Grain Tracer rounds are USA-made and use new and reloadable brass cases. Historically, tracers are used for shooting at night, so the shooter can see where the rounds are headed since spotting impacts can be impossible at night. Tracer rounds are also an excellent way to learn about the specific range and trajectory of a certain grain weight or to test a new outdoor range for ricochet potential. Many police officers and soldiers have also used tracers to mark the last few rounds in a magazine, so they see the red-burning projectiles and can maneuver to reload, instead of being surprised by a dreadful "click" with no bang while still outside of cover.
