About Kimber Manufacturing

Kimber Manufacturing has been a leading name in precision firearms since 1979, when it was originally founded as "Kimber of Oregon" by Australian immigrant Jack Warne and his son Greg Warne.

The company was named after the small town of Kimba, South Australia where founder Jack Warne was raised.

After reorganization in 1993 by businessman Leslie Edelman, Kimber entered handgun production in 1995 with their revolutionary M1911 pistols priced at $625.

The company has been credited with "shaking the Government Model industry to its core" by combining custom features at production prices.

Today, Kimber operates from Troy, Alabama with over 400 employees, maintaining their commitment to precision engineering and traditional craftsmanship.
