The MDT AICS-pattern metal magazines are engineered with a unique Double Stack to Single Feed (DSSF) transition design, significantly reducing their overall height compared to industry standards. Manufactured from high-strength steel, these magazines are nitrided and coated inside and outside with Cerakote Elite, ensuring ultimate durability, corrosion resistance, and friction reduction. These magazines are available in various capacities, including 5-round options, and are compatible with a range of cartridges such as 6mm Creedmoor, 243WIN, 260 Rem, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mm-08 Win, 308/7.62x51 NATO, and even 22-250 Rem at a reduced capacity. The absence of a front binder plate allows for a maximum cartridge overall length of 2.960 inches, though this may require modifications to the receiver of certain rifle actions to prevent bullet tips from catching on the feed ramp. The DSSF design facilitates easier magazine changes, particularly when shooting prone, as the magazines are approximately ¾” shorter in height than standard AICS magazines. Internal ribs within the magazine body reduce friction between the cartridges and the magazine, ensuring a smooth transition from a double stack to single feed at the top of the magazine.
