High Speed Gear started as a small custom shop in 1999, initially making gear specifically for Marines at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

The company began in a garage-based operation serving Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune with custom equipment suited for mission-specific tasks.

Since its founding, HSGI has grown rapidly and is now the largest full-time employer in Swansboro, North Carolina.
