Duck Commander Hunting Calls
About Duck Commander
Duck Commander was founded by Phil Robertson in 1972 when he gave up his teaching and coaching career to pursue his passion for duck hunting.
Born and raised in Vivian, Louisiana, Robertson came from humble beginnings with 7 children in the family and little money, which made hunting an essential part of life.
Never satisfied with existing duck calls on the market, Phil began experimenting to create a call that would produce the exact sound of a duck, describing it as "a duck call for duck killers, not for world-champion-style duck callers."
Phil received a patent for his original call design in 1972 and officially formed the Duck Commander Company in 1973.
The company remained a family operation with Phil's sons Alan, Jase, Willie, and Jeptha all becoming involved in the business, gaining massive national recognition through the hit A&E reality TV series "Duck Dynasty."
By 2012, the company had grown from 15 employees in 2011 to 75 employees, with reported revenue of $40 million, and all calls are still hand-built and hand-tuned in their West Monroe, Louisiana warehouse.
