Oldies But Goodies!
I have a "Colt" Detective Special, built in the sixties, chambered in .38 special and has a two inch barrel. According to the owners manual, the weapon can accomodate the high velocity or +P rated ammuniion. The older pistols, like those folks of my parent's generation, are just made of "heartier stock". The ammo rating system came and changed over time, so its necessary for you, the owner, to be an expert in your particular weapon. "COR-BON", High Velocity, ammunition has specially engineered projectiles that are designed to function at the antisipated velocities. These, +P rounds are great in my 50 year old "Colt", and even, from the 2 inch barrel, the hollow-points perform as designed. Thanks to our friends at "Ammunition-Depot", these high-tech rounds are available at great prices and special perks are given to customers at no extra charge. It was hard to find a couple of make/models of ammo that "run" and perform reliably. It's your job to find them and keep a supply on hand. If you enjoy a weapon that is chambered in a caliber that has fallen out of favor with the masses, then a ready supply of ammunition may not be available. So when you find it, check it out, make sure the weapon likes it and if it does, stock up. Ammunition-Depot can be your best friend, to get the ammunition you need at affordable prices.
