Burris Optics
About Burris Optics
Burris Optics was founded in 1971 by Don Burris, a former Redfield design engineer who believed he could build better riflescopes than what was available at the time.
During his 12 years at Redfield, Don Burris was responsible for many industry innovations including the first constantly centered non-magnifying reticle in variable power scopes, now used in 99% of scopes today.
The company introduced the iconic Fullfield riflescope in 1975, which became an industry standard for combining wide-view clarity with reliable performance.
Over five decades, Burris Optics has consistently pushed the boundaries of optical technology, introducing laser rangefinding scopes, advanced red dot sights, and breakthrough ballistic compensation systems.
Now part of the Beretta Holding Group since 2002, Burris continues to operate from Greeley, Colorado, maintaining their commitment to American innovation and accessible pricing for quality optics.
