Product Details
With Golden Saber high performance jacket (HPJ) handgun ammo, the driving band makes the difference bullet diameter directly ahead of the driving band is reduced from groove to bore diameter, so the bullet is precisely aligned before the driving band engages the rifling. The result: match grade accuracy and reduced barrel friction. The driving band locks the jacket and core together for maximum weight retention and core/jacket integrity.

Excellent Performance!
Out of all the "Federal" brand options there are out there, I really like these "Golden Sabers". Regardless of caliber, these "Golden Sabers" are only out done by the bonded versions of the same ammunition, when available. Like any round, I look for reliable and smooth feeding, clean none corrosive burning, consistent expansion of the hollow point and clean ejections. Thankfully, the Golden Saber in both standard Brass Jacketed Hollow Points (BJHP) and the bonded versions (BJHP-Bonded) fulfill all of these criteria very well. I run these 125 grain, +P jacketed hollow points in my "Colt" Detective Special, with the steel frame, but don't have the confidence that they would perform everytime, from the 2" barrel, like I do in some of the other .38 Special offerings that I have reviewed. Having said that, the ballistic reviews that I have seen conducted on the Internet, give me enough confidence for me to keep a box, or two, in the ammo cabinet. If your interested, see my other review on these products in .40S&W. The "Ammunition Depot" pricing is excellent, availability is pretty regular and I am always completely satisfied with the condition of the products I receive. I could understand that seeing the prices, one could think that you would be getting factory seconds or rounds that are in wet or otherwise damaged packaging, but I have never received anything other then new, clean fresh ammunition EXCEPT when the description clearly spells out some other condition (like seconds or damaged packaging) and I have NEVER been disappointed with the quality! Ever! I do recommend that you shop around some, so you can really appriciate just what a good deal you get here. Compare the information with your friends and I'll bet, one of your friends will tell you, your full of it. Now the question you have to ask yourself is whether you will share this site with your friends, or keep it all to yourself and let them spend way more for ammunition and wonder how you can afford such fine ammunition and get such hard to find makes and models of rounds so regularly when they can hardly ever find some choices. The choice will be yours to decide who you can trust enough to reward with your new found source and who may not be deserving! You know who I'm talking about!
