The Winchester Model 70 has been the benchmark for bolt-action rifles since 1936, setting the standard for precision and reliability. Featuring the renowned 3-position safety, it allows for easy operation with the thumb of the firing hand, lifting the firing pin away from the sear for enhanced safety. The forged steel receiver, crafted from a solid block of steel, boasts a flat bottom profile for greater bedding surface area. This receiver is bedded with a two-part epoxy at both the front and rear, ensuring stability within the stock during firing.
The Model 70's classic controlled round feed (CRF) bolt design includes a massive claw extractor that securely grips about one-quarter of the cartridge base, maintaining full control from magazine to chamber to ejection. This design also permits the extraction of an unfired cartridge even if it is not fully chambered. The M.O.A. Trigger System, the most precise three-lever trigger system globally, delivers an improved fit, finish, and enhanced accuracy, complemented by the classic pre-'64 controlled round feeding. A blade-type ejector provides full control during case ejection, while the free-floating barrel, button-rifled for superior accuracy and durability, ensures consistent performance.
This extreme model features a tungsten Cerakote metal finish and a Bell & Carlson stock with a sculpted cheek piece. The rifle's specifications include a bolt action, 308 Win caliber, 22" barrel length, 5+1 capacity, and a fixed Bell & Carlson stock. The M.O.A. Trigger System and three-position safety enhance its functionality, while the free-floating barrel and muzzle brake contribute to its precision. The receiver is made of steel, and the sights are drilled and tapped, making this rifle a top choice for right-handed shooters seeking exceptional performance and durability.
