WATCHTOWER Firearms was founded in 2022 by Jason M. Colosky, a former U.S. Marine Recon operator and senior Raytheon executive.

The company draws its name from Operation WATCHTOWER, the military codename for the Battle of Guadalcanal during World War II, honoring "the brave Americans who fought under the southern cross in the Pacific."

In 2023, WATCHTOWER acquired F-1 Firearms manufacturing operations in Texas and officially launched as a premium American firearms manufacturer based in Spring, Texas.

The company successfully completed Chapter 11 reorganization in 2025 and now operates as WATCHTOWER Defense under new ownership with expanded capabilities.
