About SDS Arms
SDS Arms is a veteran-owned firearms company founded in 2017 by partners with decades of combined experience in manufacturing, importation, and engineering.
The company was originally established as SDS Imports by founders including Scott Huff (West Point graduate and engineer), Tim Mulverhill (former head of product development at Kimber), Gaines Davis (engineer and competitive shooter), and Dave Biggers (former Army officer).
In October 2024, SDS Imports rebranded to SDS Arms to better reflect their expanded role beyond importing to designing and engineering firearms in America.
Based in Knoxville, Tennessee, SDS Arms operates as an umbrella company with five major firearm brands: Tisas USA, Tokarev USA, Military Armament Corporation (MAC), Inglis Mfg., and Spandau Arms.
The company was founded to address unmet demand in the firearms market, particularly for quality 1911 handguns and shotguns, leveraging global manufacturing partnerships while maintaining U.S. design standards.
