The Blackhawk 4212 is a tough multi-position scabbard holster, designed to carry a large-frame revolver safely and comfortably. It is made from premium tan-colored leather and comes in a left-handedconfiguration. The scabbard design supports both strong side and cross-draw carry positions, allowing you to integrate it more easily into your existing tactical loadout and making it useful in a wider variety of environments. A thumb break at the top of the holster secures the weapon in place reliably as you move, but can be released easily for a fast draw.

Being leather, the holster MAY ...
Advantages
Good quality leather, fits the BODY of the Ruger Super Redhawk well (but see disadvantages section below).
Disadvantages
The thumb release strap does NOT close over the standard hammer of the Ruger Super Redhawk.

Being leather, the holster MAY break in to the point that the thumb release strap fits properly. I would expect it to fit the revolver (as the manufacturer claims it does) out of the box.
