CCI AMMO

Product Details
Winchester introduced their .22 Magnum Rimfire in 1959, but it took another two years before commercial manufacturers provided a firearm chambered for it. Since then it has become a popular small game hunting and target round. Rimfire shotshells in turn are a popular means of dealing with small pests at very close range. Often referred to as “rat shot” or “snake shot,” the 52 grain #12 shell first a couple dozen pellets that measure approximately .05” at a muzzle velocity of around 1000 feet per second. Capable of dealing with small animals at close range, the shot losses velocity fairly quickly making it safer to use in closely confined areas, though common sense and safety are urged. It is a good choice for carrying in a revolver or small camp gun for personal defense in areas that may have small poisonous or aggressive pests.
Cascade Cartridge Inc. in based in Idaho and is very much appreciated for its quality rimfire ammunition. Despite their commonality and relatively inexpensive price, rimfire ammunition is more difficult to manufacture: getting the primer compound into the rim often leaves gaps along the circumference. CCI is well known for requiring fewer second strikes to achieve ignition: rattlesnakes are not known for giving anyone a second chance. CCI for when it needs to go bang the first time.
