These are beasts.
I got some of these by mistake, wanting the 1300 fps version. I kept them and shot them for 3 gun matches anyway. Although the increased recoil was noticeable, the accuracy was excellent even past 100 yards out of my Benelli M2 with a Light Mod choke tube. They shot like a rifle.
These would be excellent for areas requiring slugs for deer hunting and would be my first choice. These are probably way more power than needed for competition, home defense, or LE use. The Low Recoil version will serve you better for these purposes of power and accuracy without beating your shoulder and shotgun apart. The Low Recoil slugs are what most LE have gone to anyway.

Not for personal defense
My shotgun is for personal defense and I've been evaluating ammo for that purpose. I use #4 buck and #1 buck primarily for that purpose and the slugs are for target practice. I got these to see how the recoil was relative to other ammo that I've tried. The idea was to get something that was about the same if slightly worse in recoil than the ammo that I have for PD. These Hydra-Shok shells are brutal. If you can manage these, then you can manage almost anything else. Probably great for specific hunting needs but I wouldn't recommend for PD. If you want to include slugs for PD, then I would recommend the Fiocchi 7/8 oz Aero-Slug.
